2018 Valentines cooking classes in the country

Valentines Day cooking classes have always been very popular at Wickedfood, and we are usually fully booked by mid January. As Valentines falls in the middle of the week Wickedfood Earth Country Cooking School is offering a choice of 3 very special Valentines day experiences, on two consecutive weekends:

  • Sunday 11 February 2018
  • Saturday 17 February 2018
  • Sunday 18 February 2018

Spend the day in the country, with a special person in your life, enjoying scrumptious food and good company. Or to make it even more special take a 2 night break at one of the many lodges in the area, culminating in a cooking class for Lunch.

The day will include a cooking workshop where we show you the elements of preparing delicious 4-course meal and accompaniments, as well as tips on plating the various courses, followed by a gourmet 4-course sit-down lunch.

The Menu

  • Welcome drink and snacks on arrival
  • Mezze platter for 2 to share – dips and cold meats, produced on the farm, and farm-made bread.
  • Chilled soup – with bread sticks.
  • Chicken and mushroom pot pies – slow cooked chicken, in a rich homemade chicken stock, with a thick creamy mushroom sauce, covered with puff pastry and cooked to crispy golden brown, and fresh seasonal vegetables.
  • Dessert – farm grown poached fruit, with home-made ice-cream, berries, and a few other surprises;

Cost: R995 per couple, no children under 16. Included in the price is the 4-course sit-down lunch, the hands-on cooking class and complimentary glass of wine on arrival. You are welcome to bring your own drinks to accompany the meal.

Wickedfood Earth Country Cooking School runs evening, half-day, one-day, and week-end classes and food workshops. Every student gets to participate in the preparation of every dish, and sit down to enjoy the meal they have prepared at the end of the class. Cooking classes and cooking workshops are limited to a maximum of 30 students, each 10 students has his/her own fully-equipped kitchen station.
